Itera is a Melbourne-based design studio that merges graphic design, multimedia motion graphics and installation with interactive technologies. Our goal is to maximize the investment profit ratio by using technologies to enhance communication efficiency with audience. We can effectively collaborate with development teams. We understand fundamentally how those techs work so we can be thoughtful on providing optimal design for less effort to program.
Founded by designer/programmer Tianyi Chen and designer/artist Christina Dong. We are a lovely family that has been working together for 14 years.
Design-Based Motion Graphics
We explore and experiment with visual ways of combining graphic design, 3D, generative code and digital art for composing high-end motion design work.
Creative Product and Still-life Photography
We embarrass and emerge our graphic design skill with photography aiming to create artistic and practical product photography for our clients.
AI
Technology is a powerful and effective tool. We are equipped with aesthetics, technology, passion, calmness and love. We can effectively collaborate with development teams. We understand fundamentally how those techs work, so we can be thoughtful on providing optimal design for less effort to program.
Itera started out with the envisioned idea about how coding and artificial intelligence can re-shape the design world. Therefore, we embrace the power of the algorithmic-based design because we think it hasn’t been fully harnessed. By conquering the programming territories, they become a part of Itera’s design medium and technique.
Commercialized Installation
Commercialized installation is an in-excludable part of practice to Itera. We value designing and exploring effective ways on physical interfaces because it plays as the sole option for people to communicate with machines.
The beauty of having a custom-designed interface is that they can blend in the environment to provide help to users on behalf of the brand identity while communicating its concept and philosophy.
Like any other people, we also are having a mixed feeling about how digitals affect reality. Therefore we don’t want the technology to be pronounced over its purpose. With our knowledge, our design will be more natural and accessible to users.
